I lost my father at the very start of the conflict, and I wished he were alive so I could feel safe when I heard the sounds of explosions and shelling. But God decreed that my father would be martyred at the beginning of the war. My mother was our source of security and strength when we fled through the alleys, away from the tanks and occupation soldiers, under the rain and bombardment. When I saw my friends with their fathers, I felt a fire burning in my heart, and my hatred for the occupation grew because they deprived me of my father and burdened me with a responsibility far beyond my years. I am an orphan, I have lost my uncle, and I have been displaced dozens of times, but I still believe that after hardship comes ease, and that God does not forsake those who persevere. 🌿 Show less
